We are currently piloting in Baltimore, Maryland, but have plans to expand to other major metropolitan areas. Most in-person events are in the Baltimore area including Washington D.C. and surrounding states.

We do also offer a virtual and travel-only membership for those who live too far away to participate in our Baltimore-based events. We host virtual events including game nights, cocktail parties, murder mysteries, etc. to help members get to know one another before meeting in person on trips. We have a travel agent who helps coordinate departures from different cities.

The sky’s the limit! One benefit of being a member is having a say in what we plan for the future. If you have a particular activity, venue, or destination in mind, suggest it to the group! If enough people are interested, we will make it happen!

In general, though, we plan a mix of large and small, public and private, adventurous and sedate, general interest and narrow niche events which reflect the interests of the group and its individual members. Check out our calendar on the home page to get an idea of the types of events we’re hosting this month, or better yet, take advantage of the free trial and see what’s scheduled further out. Just be aware that only big trips and recurring events are planned far in advance. We are nimble and responsive to our membership, and we announce new events as they get scheduled instead of dropping an entire month of events at a time.

Your monthly subscription gives you access to the Adventure-Us community and the ability to attend any of our events. Some events are free, public events which anyone can attend, but others are ticketed, private, or special events which are only available to members. For instance, Game Night is always free and open to the public because the more the merrier! In contrast, international travel is only available to members, and members will pay individually for the trip since they may be coming from different cities.

Ticketed events will typically be billed at the time you RSVP using the same payment method you use for membership. Trips will typically be booked and paid through our travel agent to ensure we all take advantage of group rates, special packages, and perks. For other events, you may pay at the door or reimburse the host for a split bill (e.g. dinner checks) via Venmo or PayPal.

We plan approximately 4 larger trips per year and mix domestic and foreign travel. We have tentative plans for the following destinations, but dates and prices are not yet set:

Niagara Falls and Buffalo, NY (June)—This will be a road trip over a long weekend with plenty of time to get to know each other on the drive.  We’ll see the Falls, of course, but also on the docket are some architecture tours, live music at a street festival, paddleboats on Hoyt Lake, and amazing food!

New York City, New York (September/October)—This quick overnight trip is for theater lovers. We plan to see Hamilton and Wicked on Broadway, but there will also be free time to explore the city.

International destinations under consideration for 2026 include Greece, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, and Puerto Rico.

Nope! Cool is cool, no matter your age or relationship status. If you are a mature adult with good conversation, please join! Most members tend to be in their 30s and 40s, but personality and participation are MUCH more important determinants of whether we’re a good fit. As long as you come with a willing heart, you’ll feel welcome with us.

Our founder has a real passion for hosting events, building communities, and networking. The monthly membership fee is low enough that anyone can join, but high enough to ensure that people who sign up will show up. The goal is to make Adventure-Us accessible to anyone who wants to find real friends based on shared experiences. We provide a wide range of activities at several price points so there is something here for everyone.

No, membership is month-to-month and can be cancelled by you at any time. However, you do need to be a member in good standing to attend a ticketed or private event. If you do decide to cancel, your membership will continue to be active through the end of the billing period (no pro-rata refunds).

Tell us. In some cases, we may be able to add more capacity (e.g. more tables at a restaurant) or repeat the event another time (e.g. classes). For seasonal or limited events, it may not be possible. We do listen to our members and accommodate reasonable requests whenever we can.

The point of joining Adventure-Us is to have a group of friends to enjoy these experiences with, not just attend events by yourself. We book as a group so we can meet up, sit with each other or participate together, and sometimes even adjourn to another venue for an afterparty. We also have private events, such as our trips, and membership gives you access to everything.
